Everything Went Black

Tim Shelton was kind enough to Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie a spot in the Black Flag themed art show he’s curating at GCS Santa Ana.

My contribution  is Tim’s tat of The Bars, by Turk, shot on more of the 10-year-old Velvia film I’ve got laying around. As always, the roster is packed with rippers, so if you’re Thirsty And Miserable in So-Cal this Saturday, and the TV Party is just adding to your Depression, get out of that Padded Cell and come see some art.

Bloodwork: Proofs

I had the humbling experience of seeing proofs of Bloodwork: Bodies when I was in San Jose last weekend.  Seeing something tangible for the first time after almost two years of hard work was exciting to say the least. I can’t wait until this thing is out.

This picture of Adrian thumbing through said proofs was made with some crossed processed Velvia, that had to be ten years old, shot in my Bronica.

The Books

I got the call to make a shot of all the tomes we’ve done over the years at Bloodwork Books. The pile represents over a decade of blood sweat and tears by some very talented people; and the next addition to the family is due in October. Thanks to everyone who’s been there over the years. I’m humbled to been allowed to document your work and honored to have strived along side you. All these books are available over at Analog’s site.

Jim Miner

After six months I finally got I a shot of Jim Miner worthy of The ATAK portrait series. Jim’s station is in the darkest corner of the studio… That’s my excuses for lagging and I’m sticking to it.

Winding Down

The Japan portion of Bloodwork:Bodies is on the downslide. For the most part, photography from The Floating World is complete  and I’m preparing to head to San Jose and run the home stretch of the project’s production phase. Shooting this book has been a major focus for the last year and a half; and while I relish the day when my life and time are once again my own, the conclusion will still be bitter sweet…

What’s a bluetooth?

I’ve been bouncing around Japan the last few days photographing more tats for the Bloodwork:Bodies book. Masa has been kind enough to do the driving. His hand are always at 2 and 12 and his eyes focused like a laser on the road ahead.
